On August 16, 2006, I presented a public lecture entitled, "Feminist Images of Empowerment" in partnership with Culture in the City (www.cultureinthecity.org) and the Women's Fund of Miami-Dade County (www.womensfundmiami.org). The lecture had a hands-on component and attendees created sculptural collages inspired by artist Ellen Gallagher. This was the first FAP-FL related event.
